Things to avoid as a young man to be Successful in Life
It is lonely at the top because you had to sacrifice a lot to be there, you had to learn to work on your own, get rid of some hobbies and friends pulling you back.
As a young man who is trying to climb the ladder of success, there are some things you need to do and some that you need to avoid if you want to be successful in life.
The first step I was glad I took was my decision to leave my hometown, away from family and friends to start afresh in a new town with no one aside from my sister.
The lifestyle I lived when I was living with my parent could not make me progress in life, I had many friends and not the kind that we brainstormed on how to make tomorrow better, you would see us playing football. gambling and other fun stuff.
I did not leave home for years and the first time I left which was in 2011, The place I went to opened my eyes to so many things and I realized I was in the wrong place and there was no way I could make it in my hometown due to some many hindrances.
When my mind is off something, being there would only make me feel miserable till I leave, so it didn't take long before I packed my bags and left home for good.
There is no place we would go to where we won't meet other people, we are the ones who need to think and apply our senses, the reason why we left our abode must be avoided in the new place, so I made sure not to keep friends or do things that will make me have many friends and that is football, I played once and when they invited me to come and join their team and play with them, I rejected the offer and stop playing ball cos I know where it was going to end, it is a big distraction. I focused on my goal of making it in life.
As time went on, I started making progress, My present keeps getting better than my past and I was happy... I thought I had arrived when I was earning 50k Naira per month as of 2018 not knowing that was just a tip of an Iceberg.
I am grateful to God for the position I am in today and I also thank myself for not allowing myself to get influenced or misused the fund.
As a young man who is still trying to grow, learn to avoid these things I am going to mention below.
Do not compare your life with others: Everyone has a story, so never compare your life with others who are doing well and better than you, the only person you should compare yourself with is yourself, as long as your present is better than yesterday, you have every reason to be happy.
Spend less than your Income: Do not live a life to impress others, don't borrow to buy the latest, don't be in debt to trend like others, don't spend to impress because when the little you have finish, that is when you will realize those you are trying to impress does not send you. It is okay to live comfortably but do not try to live an expensive lifestyle that your salary or income can't cover.. Imagine someone earning a 50k monthly salary renting a house of 1m annual rent.
Don't date a high-maintenance lady: As a man, one of the ways to get easily wrecked is by dating a jobless girl with high taste, you are only pouring money down a pit and when it finishes, she will go for the next guy that can take care of her.
Avoid many friends: Having too many friends won't do you any good, friends are big distraction especially if it is those ones that love to party they will drag you into their lifestyle, if you are going to make friends, mingle with people with positive mindset, business ideas and goals that will motivate you to do better in life.

Hehe. It since I am going to be successful in life because I have all the qualities you mention here.
But in case of last point I feel it's not applicable for everyone. I have sent some of my cousin who has a large front circle and its work as an asset not a distraction. Although I am not like them but sometimes I also can't deny the benifit of having many friends in life.

Is it a large number of friends ? Or you mistake their colleagues at work that they become more closer to as friends.
They are friends. My cousins are still in university level and there is no chance of colleagues. The speciality of my cousin are whenever they didn't disconnected with the friends even changing institution and surprisingly both of my cousin can maintain the regular connection with all of them. Both of my cousin has several friend circle. If I were in their place It was impossible to maintain the connection with so many people.
Sometimes I feel both of them are gangster 🤣.

We really need to be careful of our decision in life as a man because at the end of the day, they summed up to what we become in life actually
It's just like that now we see that the life of a young man has a lot of problems in him and he has to look at a lot of things and go through the things you mentioned if he does it this way. So his life will definitely become easier and it is a fact that when we help each other we will get to learn many things so it is a fact that only by helping each other we can have a good and easy life.
Honestly, sometimes we don’t grow because we are stuck in the same place that restricts us. We need to go out there and unleash our potential. If you feel you’re not growing where you are, move out and slow yourself grow.

Having too many is just like the fastest way to have so many parties to attend and you’d be spending almost all your income that way. Keeping one’s circle small is very important and also being dedicated to what you have planned to achieve

Perfectly said. As a man, you must really be careful of what you do. Don't do things at the expense of just trying to impress people. It should not be so
There are some wrong decisions I have made as a guy in the past that if only I have seen people who will counsel me, it will have been much more better
