This is a true life story?if it is, then I'm confused on why you gave it a rating of 4/10. Tom Cruise is an A-list actor, you wanted the same performance from another actor I'll say some people are born actors, more reason I don't compare while watching them act.
I've got to say I love the html designs you pulled on this review.

No. The script is based on the novel, which is a fiction, although certain details like everyday life on the carrier etc. were clearly based on author's wartime experiences.
Being true to actual historical record doesn't make any film good by itself and vice versa.
