Do not trust the LEO price shown by CoinGecko!
The automated $LEO price is showing $0.085 at the moment while I saw a different price when I check out my wallet.
$0.070 as shown by CoinGecko.
This is quite an issue. So which is the true price?
How much is 1 LEO in dollar value?
Let me show you two ways to find it.
Approach 1
Go to BeeSwap and set the exchange to be as follows.
If I were to transact, 1 LEO can get me 0.19 Hive.
Since I am interested to find out how much 1 LEO will cost in dollars term, I need to find out how much is 0.19 Hive worth.
Taaaadaa!
1 LEO is currently worth $0.066 in SWAP.HBD based on the BeeSwap liquidity pool exchange.
This is more than a 25% difference!
Approach 2
I also looked at the price at LEO Dex.
If I were to sell 1 LEO there, I get back 0.18 Hive.
To sell that Hive to get Swap.HBD, I will get back 0.0623 Swap.HBD.
Conclusion
Based on these two sets of calculations, we can conclude that we should take the price shown by the automated price gadget or that as shown by CoinGecko with a pinch of salt.
Take 25% off that price, or do the checks yourself!

Yeah it can also be because automated price program do not updates frequently. For example if the coding was done to update the price every 5 hours we will see a price change once every five hour.
It is better to do it manually as you shown in your blog.

This way they should fix this problem quickly so that people can see the real price and not worry.
The automated prices seems off if it doesn't match what the actual prices are. Then again, I wonder if they base it off of the diesel pool swap price or from the latest price on the order book? Either way, I hope they do fix this in the future.
