ONE MAN'S FOOD IS ANOTHER MAN'S TOXICITY.

Assuming you have the resources to get/do everything you want, is there anything that looks appealing that you would rather restrain yourself from having/doing?

I was chatting with my friends last week and we were discussing about pets, one said she loves dogs and everyone was giving their opinions about what pet they would love to have in their home, this talk took us some hours, I was just looking at them because I know one thing that is very sure about me.

If I am financially blessed and I have everything in this life I can never think of having a cat as my pet, not that I do not love their existence but, I can never live in the same house with a cat, I have phobia for cat, it always irritates me to touch.

Do not get me wrong, I am not saying having a cat as a pet is not a good thing but we all know that one man's food is another man's poison, cat is one animal that I can never stand in my house, I always run from them because of their nature.

In my country people believe that cats are evil, they are very easy to manipulate and they can be so dangerous, I am always afraid of their eyes especially at night if there is no light and you see a cat, the eyes are always scary.

I never liked my paternal grandmother because of cats, my grandmother loves cats so much and cats are always in her sitting room, I hate to visit her because of cats, while growing up I believed that if you have a cat as a pet then you are a witch, please do not laugh me, that was my belief then, my grandmother can never do without her cats and she will always feed them the normal food and portion she will give to a human being, she has good plates for them and this made me wonder if she is a witch so I do run from her.

I have heard so many stories about cats while growing up or Maybe because I watched too many Nigerian movies, do not blame me for that, having a cat as a pet may look appealing to others but not to someone like me, there is no amount of money I can have in this world that would make me fall in love with cats and make me have it as a pet.

Apart from being evil in my beliefs, I do have allergies whenever I come in contact with their fur, most times it gives me a cough, One dangerous thing about cats is that you can never kill them unless they die, even their spit too can be poisonous, having a cat as a pet is a no go area for me.

Normally, cat is likened to....... in Nigeria.
My fear, feel free to fill the blank 😅

I'm having a really big laugh while reading this. Cats sure have a lot of tales about them, especially in our part of the world. My Paternal granny also had a Cat at home. She keeps them at home and they casually make themselves comfortable all-over the house. Haha.

I'm not the biggest fan of cats, but I'm even worse around dogs. Lol. Between the two, I will most likely go for cats. There is something about dogs that makes my blood boil in an unreceptive way. Haha.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this.

Haha... see how our society can change us. Cats are cute, though. I don't think I'd like one has a pet as well.

Their eyes are indeed scary at night, and what they are known for in our part of the country, as explained, is one thing that makes it hard to be owned.
