The Sukabumi City Grand Mosque

Greetings everyone
Located on Sukabumi City, West Java. This magnificent mosque is a source of pride for the local residents. Established on 1890. The Mosque has undergone several renovations to reach it's current state, standing as an iconic landmark of the city.

I visited the Mosque just before the Maghrib prayer and joined the congregational prayer. Afterward, I took several photos of the Mosque's exterior and interior, regarding exterior.

Lighting plays a crucial role at night, serving both to illuminate the structure and to enhance the beauty of it's architectural design.

The great Mosque features a spacious forecourt, where the pillars serve as ornamental elements symbolizing the Asmaul Husna. Beyond serving as a place of worship for muslims. The Mosque also functions activities.

The Sukabumi Great Mosque boasts a magnificent, modern design that blends Middle Eastern influence is evident on the dome. While local culture is represented by the Kujang-a traditional weapon-serving as a sundanese cultural ornament.

Additionally, the use of sloping roof planes reflects indonesia tropical environment. The interior of the Sukabumi Grand Mosque. Before the main prayer hall, one first passes through the Mosque terrace.

The terrace is quite spacious and square-shaped. The Walls are open rather than fully enclosed,featuring large. I took several photos from the terrace looking out toward the exterior Courtyard.

The basement level serve as an area for performing Wudu, with the toilet facilities separated by a wall. In the main prayer hall, tall, round concrete columns-reinforced by interconnecting concrete beams-support the weight of the dome.
