You have put in lots of effort into this Zak, it is a good idea to link up and just keep sharing Hive with friends/family.

A couple of points you mentioned which I do agree with you, I think some newbies would like experiencing spending earned Hive, showing them how that is withdrawn and deposited to their local bank account will do a lot of good in removing the skeptic thoughts.
