MWM|| Beautiful Granny Bag 🧶🧶

Blessed day fellow needlecrafters. I hope you are having a beautiful week. Today I am very happy to come and share with you a new project that is part of my collection of spring motif bags and purses. This is a new handbag made with African flower grannys.

This wallet has a different design than the other wallets I have knitted with granny squares. In this case the grannies are much larger and also have a tighter pattern. For this model only 5 granny squares are needed and the size of the wallet will depend on the size of the granny squares.

The main motif is the African flower which is the base of all the granny squares. For this bag I chose shades of olive green, dark green and a cream color, which I thought was a nice combination. The first thing I did was to knit all the African flowers and then turn them into granny squares.

Once the 5 grannys were ready, I started the assembly process. To do this, a base granny is placed and the grannies that will form the sides are sewn. I sewed the seam with low stitches in green so that it would be a visible seam. After sewing all the sides, it should look like a kind of box without a lid.

The next step is to knit 4 rows of high granny stitches, then 4 rows of low stitches and finally the handle on each side. It really is a very simple and easy to make pattern and can be made with different granny designs and also in the desired size.

I was really satisfied with the final result of this project, because it was a design that I had wanted to knit for some time. Making all these bags makes me feel very happy, because one of my dreams is to have a collection of woven purses of different models and with this project I am achieving it.
