I see the consequences of Beverly's little scheme keep multiplying even as she tries to get things under control. A full blow campaign by college kids? Lionel is popular and favoured than I expected. But this also shows that Preston's tyranny has been going on for so long that even the younger generation has picked up on it.

And Candice! She's Beverly's ace card. Preston is finally talking and we might get a glimpse of what really happened to those flowers. He talks about "loose lips" but his are the loosest of all. 😄 This story keeps getting more interesting. You continue to add unexpected pieces to this debacle and I can't wait to see how it all ends. I'm having so much fun with this story that I don't want it to end. But it must. Hopefully, I can do it satisfactorily. What I wanted to ask was whether I went too far with Candice and Preston? I only wanted to allude to his eccentric proclivities and not be explicit with this dark side to his personality. I say "dark side". That's my stoic senior citizen's point of view. It may well be normal to others, so I try not to judge...just report.

Not at all. I thought you handled Candice and Preston's dalliance well, giving your readers enough information to understand what was going on without turning the scene into something explicit. The scene also tells us plenty about Preston's personality.

And yes, someone must answer for those petunias and I suspect Preston might be the one taking the biggest hit especially with all the stunts he's been pulling using his position in the HOA. Well done.

I'm glad you think so because I was worried. Chapter 8 will be the finale and will wrap up the neighborhood saga. I hope Beverly is able to use all her skills to uncover the culprit whichever direction it leads.
