STEPHANIE IS A TRUE DEFINITION OF HUMILITY
I have been very fortunate to have great friends over the years, I don't have much even though I'm known by many, but the few I have are friends indeed. I think I have shared this story here before, and I don't mind sharing it again because of how much it means to me. If you follow my post you will know I have talked a lot about two friends; Marvelous and Victor. However today I will be talking about another, she's like an underdog, and someone I can always count on any time any day. Not just in the area of finance, but also in administering life advice.
I met Stephanie after my third year in school, it was the period I had to drop out of school because of finance in 2018, we attended the same church, but I never knew until I was made youths president, and she was the financial secretary among my executive. During that period we were also attending Bible School classes which I started attending knowing full well that might be the only period in my life I would get to do those things. I discovered Stephanie was in the same bible school class, and that was how we became friends. We would go for bible school classes together, and also leave together. We became so close even my mum thought we were dating as she gave me the maximum respect a lady could give a guy.
I never bothered asking about her background because I knew where she lived, we were so close that she would cook and bring for me not minding if I have eaten or not (she just wanted me to eat her food 😂) One day we were discussing randomly when I started mentioning the things I would have done if I had a laptop. She said nothing, until the next day when she sent her younger brother to give me a laptop. I was so shocked that I had to ask how did she get the laptop, knowing these things are very expensive, turned out she had one nobody was using and she gave me. I asked again if her mum agreed to it, and that was when I realized that her mum was late, and the lady I thought to be her mum was her aunt. She is originally from Liberia and only came to Nigeria because someone needed to look after her and her siblings seeing her father was always traveling and never had time for them.
In short, she is from a very wealthy home, leaving with her relatives who only cared about the money her dad sends them for taking care of her and her siblings. So no one really cared about what she does with her property or her life. At that moment I fell in love with the fact that she made the decision to be decent even though there was no one to watch over her activities considering what girls of her age do given such freedom. Again I fell in love with her humility, so humble that if she hadn't told me, I would never have known she was from a wealthy family. She is never driven by material things, and neither will you find her trying to do what others are doing. It's easy not to do what others are doing when you don't have the means, but she had both the means and freedom yet choose to be different. We are still friends to date, and she has saved me some financial burdens a lot of times so much that I no longer tell her about things I need because she might just get them (my pride as a guy...) In all she has taught me that money is only a tool that should be used when It's needed, there's no need flaunting it because you have it.

No no, you got it all wrong. She's my friend, and I love her as a friend. I've never even dreamed of having an intimate relationship with her. We have been good friends before I realized she was rich in 2019, and we are still friends to date even after my realization. No strings attached.
