Here's how I made a very delicious Chinese Devilled Water Spinach at home

Greetings from Sri Lanka. Yesterday was heavily rain Sunday. So I hadn't plan to walk among the nature or interetsing travel desination. But I have to do some of house works. So I immediately changed my previous plans and went to new changes. So it was a rainy day and after some time I decided to go to my kitchen and make a vegetarian dish. For that, we used Water Spinach, known as Kankun in Sinhala, which had spread like mats in our garden. In fact, people use it for dietary purposes in different ways and most people like to eat Water Spinach as a nutritious leaf. Water Spinach is eaten with rice as a tempura and as a devilish curry. Locally, water spinach can be used as a dietary supplement in many ways. Water Spinach is a spreading plant that thrives in well-drained areas such as trees and vines. A green plant, Water Spinach can also be seen growing prolifically as a shrub.

Ingredients,

  • 1 bundle of Water Spinach, washed well and cut into vines

  • An onion cut into circles
    Eight cloves of chopped garlic
  • Three green chilli pods, cut in half
  • One tablespoon of soy sauce
  • Two tablespoons of coconut oil pr vegetable oil
  • A little water
  • A tablespoon of tomato sauce

  • Half a teaspoon of sugar
  • Two teaspoons of corn flour
  • A teaspoon of salt powder
  • A teaspoon of pepper powder

Preparing method

  • To make Water Spinach in the Chinese way, the first thing we need to do is to make a sauce-like liquid. Take a small bowl and put two teaspoons of corn flour. Add the specified amount of soy sauce to it. Then add a tablespoon of tomato sauce.

  • Then add some water and mix well and keep aside.

  • Heat a pan and add oil. When the oil is hot, add the chopped garlic. When the garlic is slightly fried, add the onion cut into circles and fry. Then add chopped green chillies and fry for a while. Do not over fry. Because if too much of the above ingredients are fried, the final taste may change.

  • Then add well washed Water Spinach and fry. Do not cut water spinach into small pieces. Fry in the same way as the long branches. Meanwhile, mix the ingredients well.

  • Now add the sauce mixture made above and mix the ingredients well. It is okay to use even two tablespoons for that.

  • Now reduce the flame and add salt powder and pepper powder. Mix everything well and remove from heat. Do not over boil water spinach. It causes loss of green color, change in taste and loss of nutritional value.

Water Spinach has several health benefits. They are mentioned in more medicine books. Water Spinach is more beneficial to increase the energy of those who have weak body strength, and body growth also occurs through frequent consumption. Water Spinach can be mentioned as an excellent food to relieve physical toxins and purify the blood. Many people prefer to have Chinese style food. Me too. Yeah Chinese system devilled water spinnach very popular worldwide like as your region. But it has more taste than other water spinach dishes. Thanks for feed back @semarekha.
