Short evening run

I just finished a 8.482km running that lasted about 0hh:45mm:44ss !

After the last run that was encouraging, I had high expectations for this one. But once again I started too late and nightfall arrived way too quick. But it's probably a good thing because I quickly ran out of fuel, and it's pretty obvious on the splits. My knee was also quite painful when I started. As usual, I tried to run it off, and after a mile or so, it did get a little better. But now I am not sure it was such a good idea because 4 days later, my knee is still bothering me. I am pretty sure it's the effect of all the extra pounds I am carrying right now, too much strain on the joints. I really need to loose some weight!

Nothing really new on the route, I just stayed on the small streets in the neighborhood. I had to slow down a couple times to cross bigger roads, but other than that, there was very little traffic as most days. Lots of deer traffic though, some of them don't even react to my presence!

Between my knee, and my dog just back from surgery requiring a lot of attention, I didn't run since that Wednesday run, almost a week! That makes my readiness for Detroit half marathon in less than 3 weeks not so sure anymore. But we'll see what I am able to do this week.
