I think the reason she came to say it in social media was so her followers will not be wondering what happened, it also shows she cares about them.
And yes, a break is always necessary once in a while, if not your body will force you to take that break and it won't be nice.

Yeah... if you keep refusing to take rests, your body will do it for you. And that is always more costly.
