i think if you already know that your proportions aren't good then you should first try to draw the face with a pencil.Very lightly. thats what i do. because i make so much mistakes all the time. but i also want my art to look as good as possible.

so, its necessary that you do everything you can to make it better. just because you would use a pencil at the beginning doesn't mean it wouldn't be cool anymore...

your art shows that you could be good at it. if you start doing things the proper way....
