Garden Plants - Old and New!

Two years ago when the pandemic started, my family and I also started our very own vegetable garden. I had several post about it here before. This is my first time to post in the HiveGarden Community. The lockdown has taught my family to grow our own food in our own simple way. We may not have much harvest, but having grown such edible plants gave us the satisfaction that it is possible to grow such vegetables in a very limited space at home.

We don't have a huge lawn so to speak, but we have small space at home that we converted it to a container garden. We've been cultivating our little garden for 2 years now. We have recycled water bottles and cans as our pots.

Lately, I've planted new ones. These are tomatoes, cucumbers and kangkong. As always, the seeds and cuttings were from our kitchen scraps! Amazing right? Turning out kitchen trash to plants in the garden.

Kangkong or water spinach.

We also have here the existing plants which were in our garden for several months now or even a year or more.

These are our lemon plants and eggplants. Can you see the eggplants? 🙂 I harvested two this morning.

We've placed these outside our house near where our car park beside the street. They used to be in our garden at our unfinished balcony. Since it's getting bigger, we transferred it outside. The Lemons are 2 years old now, no fruits yet so are the eggplants. They all survived the recent typhoon that hit Philippines so hard along with the existing ones.

Final thoughts...

Seeing these plants grow gives me joy. I spend time gardening to take a break of screen time. Away from my phone and computer doing a lot of stuff online.

I am looking forward to see cucumbers and tomatoes soon!! I'll give you an update when they do have fruits already.

Thank you for reaching this far and taking time to get to know our plants. 🙂

Until next time!

Love,
Met

Nice to see that your plants are thriving... especially you are cooking a lot and use your own spices you have grown. Keep it up!
