All the best wishes for a speedy recovery and healing for your son while he rest and repair after the operation. Although you cannot see the extended family - having a good time with your immediate family can be very special. You will create nice memories together as you handle the situation making it as fun as you can.
As you mentioned, losing loved ones can be very hard. We keep going and enjoy the nice memories of them while ensuring that we love and cherish the moments with those they left behind.
