Your story demonstrates that assumptions and speculation can cause one to worry unnecessarily. Communicating openly is alwasy the best thing to do. The surprise birthdday and gather of loved ones is certainly a happy ending to all those thoughts of concern. There are lessons to be learnt from this scenario.
