I Accidentally Investigated a Mystery, and All Trails Seem to Point that I am The Prime Suspect

Guys! I don't think I'm the only one this thing has happened to, but I know it happens on very rare occasions. Like twice or thrice in a lifetime.

You find your brain trying to unravel a mystery that has to do with who did something (whodunnit). You have your suspects and you start listing the clues that show who is more suspicious.

You say something like they were all at so and so place by so and so time, but Mr. A is more suspicious because he came earlier, has more physical strength due to his muscles, and has more training for some of the skills needed to have committed the crime, etc.

Stuff like this!

Let's say the crime happened at a restaurant you usually go to. You start wondering who may have done it, and the thought that a customer could have done it seems really good. You start listing, in your head, all the other regular customers and who seems most likely to have done it, and at the end of the day you see that the trail leads dangerously close to you, but you know you're not the one who did it.

Exactly! That's the thing that has just happened to me. This is one of those rare occasions that point very dangerously close to me. Here is the story:

I just moved into a new house in October. The last time there was any theft or robbery in the area was around 4 months ago. But on the very first day moved in, my neighbor's house was burgled.

That same week, another neighbor's purse was stolen from her window at midnight. Luckily it was an empty purse.

Then after some weeks, we heard of a robbery that happened at midnight not so far from our area. And from the story, the robbers were up to 20 guys, and guess what? That night I didn't spend the night at my place!

Then on another night, a robbery like this happened again with a lesser number of robbers. And on that night I didn't sleep at home again!

So what would my neighbors think by now? They've probably never thought of it, but the day it would slip into their minds it would be so striking and look like the truth or most probable.

This isn't even the end. Guess what was more? Just yesterday, I was the only person around in the compound and everybody knew this. I stepped away for 30 minutes without anybody knowing but later that afternoon someone else came back and found out a neighbor's window was broken a little. She called my attention, and I was shocked something like that could happen when I was in the house. I started saying it probably happened when I stepped out for 30 minutes, and that they didn't know about that.

It must have fallen on deaf ears, deaf because they're almost certain I'm the one. Lol.

Giving further thought to this, I think the window breaking must have happened almost certainly when I stepped away and that when I returned, because I wasn't gone for long, the thief must have abandoned the mission halfway and run away from the other side. (This must be the case because the window wasn't completely broken the house was not accessed and its occupant said nothing was missing.)

I told everyone about this, and that my coming in as quickly as 30 minutes later must have saved the day.

Once again:

It must have fallen on deaf ears, deaf because they're almost certain I'm the one. Lol.

It must have seemed to them that I was trying to exonerate myself and that I was only trying that because I felt guilty, and if I felt guilty, I was probably guilty. LMAO.

They all shrugged it off and went into their homes, and since then I've been thinking, who could be their prime suspect? Could I be on their list of the most suspicious ones?

Then all these coincidences I've just told y'all started piling up in my head and I held my head like, shit, this has to stop or I'm in some real big trouble! What if some policemen come to me for Questioning/Interrogation one of these days?

My God! 🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha. I understand that feeling, people around might have observe that most of robbery takes place when you are not around.

I hope they don’t bring a police

Why do you think they suspect you? Did someone say something?

It's kinda like one of my new neighbors. After he moved in, people started finding dog shit on their lawns, including me. Of course, everyone thought it was him. I still am not sure, I never saw him let his dog shit in my front yard, but all signs point to him, so he's been rejected as a new neighbor! I feel sorry for him. I hope they don't suspect you.

Maybe that neighbor doesn't have to let his dog do it, maybe his doe does it on Its own. Lol.

My neighbors haven't said anything to me, but I've been thinking about everything and trying to find suspects in my head and I accidentally realized how suspicious I am. Lol.

It happens sometimes, but you won't blame yourself for things happening just when you are stepping out. Some people are lucky like that. Evil don't happen when they are around.

Well, your neighbors will know you are innocent with time through your character. Nevertheless, watch your movement and stop acting suspiciously, you will cause yours self harm

Heheh. Got it. I'd try my best. They're already getting to know me and I think that would help.

I think I can understand the feeling because it has happened to me before. And the funny thing is you can't just help but try to want to avoid thinking it is you whereas it is not you

This is exactly what happens to all of us, if something goes missing from the house next door, then their suspicion must fall on us a couple of times, but later when the truth is revealed, it is not our fault at all. People are getting embarrassed then it is better that a person should complete his research first then someone should look at him with such eyes it is not good at all.

Lmao! This is interesting, but yet very tricky, nonetheless, the thought may have crossed their mind but that’s only a 20% chance that’s possible. The fact that there’s been a robbery before you moved in months ago and when you finally moved in gives more of the impression that someone has their eyes on the surroundings and may use the opportunity of you moving in to cover up, but being a new resident in the neighbourhood and being the fresh meat, why haven’t they tried burglarizing your place too? You are New to the neighbourhood after all, I believe you should actually be more of the victims that the rest, as much as that might be suspicious it doesn’t still validate the mindset you have, the more you suspect that THEY suspect you the more reason they would believe you’re involved. My advice💁🏽‍♀️, just observe and perhaps report to the authorities about the burglars and robbing being that you’re a new person and you wouldn’t want to be a victim and experience such. That move alone can reduce or perhaps zero any thoughts of you being a suspect to anyone and yet to NO ONE.

Well, I wouldn't make that move, though. I've just been observing since then. I wasn't worried much and so far things been cool, there have been no incident since then and no one has said shit to me.

Whatever anyone thought, they must have kept it to themselves, especially as they probably don't have too many reasons to think I'm the one. It's been all good.

Sure, everything does point at you being the prime suspect 😅🤣😜. I mean, you were the only person in the compound when an attempted robery occurred and you even started explaining even when no one had pointed any accusing finger yet. If any of them were to take the matter to a police station, they might just be able to build a solid case against you.
Anyways you aren't the one who did it and you shouldn't feel or behave guilty, it only makes you more suspicious, I think we should also talk of the poor security around your area, roberies should not be so frequent/rampant. Instead of them suspecting you they should instead try to do something about security in other to curb the robberies.
