The Movie Fall (2022) Has a Dumb Premise/Foundation (no spoilers)

One of the movies it seems people are pointing at as the movie to watch is Fall 2 (2026). Not because it is really great but because we've watched all the really great releases of this year already, and this one is like a snack to keep us company till the next great release comes. You know what I mean.

So I decided I'll watch Fall 2, but before watching it I have to watch Fall 1, as I haven't done that. People who have watched it told me it is great too, and the fact that it has a part 2 shows that the part 1 did well enough.

Little did I know the thrash I was about to witness 🤣🤣.

Now, about everything else in this movie was done well, and the story, suspense and thrill certainly hit, but it only hits if you disregard one huge elephant mammoth in the room.

The movie is about two girls stuck on the top of a tower, that tower you see on the cover of the movie above. They are climbers and they climbed up there using the ladders that were on the body of the tower. But climbing up there got the screws lose and climbing down made it worse and over 50 ft of the ladders fell off so they couldn't climb down. So they were stuck.

Now that's the dumb thing. They were stuck. How can you be a climber but can't climb down a pole?

Myself I've climbed up and down coconut trees a thousand times without any gear, and a pole is no different. If an ordinary guy like me can do it how much more climbers? And you don't even have to climb the entire 2000 ft, just the first 50 or so ft 🤦🏿‍♂️.

Now that's not all. There is something called "Palm Wine". The people who get the wine from the palm trees are called Palm Wine tappers. Palm Wine tappers climb talk palm trees all the time with this simple gear:

The gear is just the rope like stuff around their body that keeps them attached to the tree. If these Fall climbers can't climb with their bare hands like I do and they don't have this exact rope like stuff they could have just made it with their clothes or with the ropes they had. All you have to do is tie it around yourself and the tree. Very simple.

But here was a movie where professional climbers could not do an easy climb and could not use the gear they had to do somewhere as simple as this. What a smelly shame 🤦🏿‍♂️.

The people who watched it and enjoyed it are probably people who couldn't think of all these too because they're not professional climbers or they don't have the experiences I have playing around pole-like trees from when I was a child. But what about the writers and director and everyone else involved?

It's just so sad to see they did all of that story and great suspense/thrill on a stupidly faulty premise like that. It's always sad to see these in movies. All that money invested, all that professionalism involved but no one with the brains to spot this stuff?

Or maybe the spotted it, though, but they have extra brains to know that it wouldn't matter, the masses and movie fans would not notice. Look how successful the movie became that there's even a part 2 now, maybe it's really the extra brains stuff.

Maybe that's why people with intelligence and logical integrity would never succeed because they think you need to present a logically valid story/product to win when some dumbness in your product would make it more loveable to the masses 🤣🤣.
