Why Making Quotes that Downplay Money is Evil/Deplorable

We all know people or have heard of people who were in good relationships. They had someone good who showed them love, was kind to them, provided some sort of stuff for them, and on top of all these were good looking and appealing. But these people never really appreciated this someone good that they had.

As good as this angel was, they kept trying to find faults, or they simply didn't return the sweet energy this person was giving them. They kept offending them and treating them badly.

We also know the many ways people don't appreciate the good things they have. The common saying is "You don't know what you have until you lose it". People get loans from their friends, and when it's time to pay them back they become real idiots about it.

I know of a man who was jobless and depressed. He needed money badly to take care of his family. Then someone gave him a tricycle to be used for commercial purposes (like a taxi). The agreement was that he'd share the daily earnings with the person who provided the tricycle.

After a few weeks of riding this tricycle and sharing the earnings, he got greedy and stopped sharing the earnings, keeping it all for himself instead. The tricycle's owner complained and complained for weeks till he decided to take the tricycle back.

When he took it back, the greedy man came begging, knelt, kowtowed, everything. And promised he wouldn't do it again. The owner forgave him and returned the tricycle to him. He took it back and kept sharing the earnings like he was supposed to, but after about two months he went back to being greedy again and wouldn't share the earnings.

The owner, after complaining for weeks again, took the tricycle back. The beggings came again, but he never returned it. So that greedy man was back to being jobless and broke.

Do you see how much someone can have something going good for them but still not appreciate it?

We all know there are a lot of quotes downplaying money. Quotes like "money is not everything", "vanity upon vanity", etc.

Here is something Jay Z said downplaying money, but I guess he was being sarcastic, it's not certain:

What do I think of success? It sucks
Too much stress...Truth be told I had more fun when I was piss poor I'm pissed off...All this stress, all I got is this big house
Couple of cars, I don't bring half of them shits out...All of this ace of spade, I drank just to piss out I got watches I ain't seen in months
Apartment at the Trump, I only slept in once.

(From the song Success)

Here is something J Cole said:

As I really started to take a closer look at all that shit we want, and all the shit we need that makes us happy, I started to see for my, with my own eyes. Like wait a minute. That shit don’t feel right, that shit feel weird. And I started to notice that, all of that shit that they tried to tell us is all bullshit and it’s all wrong and it’s not what we need to make us happy. I had to go figure that shit out on my own.

It’s a man right now, he got millions of fucking dollars, he got a billion dollars. He got everything that we think we need to be happy, he got it. He got money, he got the cars, he got the big ass crib, 3 or 4 of them bitches, he got the genetically impossible wife, and he got bitches. But yet, this dude is fucking miserable, he’s empty inside

Finally, something Akon said in a video:

“Money brings you more problems than it brings comfort. You lose yourself. You can’t find time for your family. That’s no comfort.”

Usually, people, see all this kind of talk from rich people and tell a poor person who thinks money would make him happy to shut up. They also say poor people can't really speak on this issue because they haven't had money yet. They say that if rich people can say these things against money then it has to be true.

But has anyone really come to think about the fact that these rich people are probably ingrates for saying these things? They're probably like those people who have good people in their lives but don't appreciate them.

Like that guy who couldn't keep a good arrangement with the tricycle out of greed. Humans can have it going good for them but still talk or act a fool. And isn't the case of rich people talking crap about money one of those cases?

It is understandable if one has some problems money can't fix and becomes miserable. But that doesn't diminish the importance of money at all. Especially when you think that if the person didn't have money, whatever problem it is he's facing would have been worse or at least more difficult to live with.

A second of imagining what life is without money should help one see that saying anything against something that lifts you up from that situation is nothing short of shameful.

No matter what anyone has to say about money, you can't ever refute the fact that money is nothing but a good guy who only wants to do stuff for you as much as he can. If you have money and for a second sound ungrateful or criticize it because of its limitations, the first thing that should come to mind is not "this guy is probably right", but rather "this guy has the guts to say this about something this good? What an ingrate!".

Yes oo, I am going with your last lines, my ears are blocked, please no body should make me an enemy of money😂 I know money is the good guy and they are just the bad guys😁 I almost bought what Akon said about money but for second, I have to ask "how can money bring more problem to us"? It doesn't make any sense to me though. Because money is meant to solve problem not bring problem.

I am telling the experience of my life without money a person does not get respect anywhere and if a person wants to earn respect in this world then he has to earn money first and when money comes to a person then all the facilities. They also go away and human life also becomes peaceful.

Money is necessity, if money is bad, then every necessity is bad.

I don't think money is inherently evil, a method of trade can be a good thing, but everything is corruptible. What we do with our money in our hearts is what matters. Interesting questions you raise here.

As humans, we are not wired for happiness. We are wired for status. We chase highs, we chase things that make us feel good about ourselves and one of the things that make us feel good about ourselves is people's approval. Society approve people who are rich, the bitches, friends, etc, approve of you when you're rich. So these rich guys chase these things for these reasons and then after that they chill and be like, damn! I've got all of this but why do I feel incomplete? We don't understand that our desires never end. Once we're done getting this, we need another. So that's it
