RE: Storm is coming....

Beautiful springtime nature photographs bursting with life and colors!

Although you live halfway across the world from me, we both experienced the same extreme weather conditions within the past 24 hours. Your aftermath looks much better than in the five surrounding states where I live in the Midwest. Strong winds, severe rains (1- 5 inches), hail ranging from pea size to golf ball size fell, tornado warnings and watches sounded in the evening and throughout the night. I stayed awake watching the meteorologists on television on alert and ready to wake my family to go to the basement for shelter as well as call my elderly mother who lives by herself 35 miles away. Fortunately our damage was minimal and no lives were lost.

Stay safe and keep up the terrific work! @triplug

Even if we are at a considerable distance we still have something in common, and yes, in Romania the strength of these storms is not so great (I'm referring to tornadoes) the strength of the wind is somewhere between 80km/hour in the area where I live (plain and hill area) and over 100km/hour in mountainous areas (here in such situations it is not advisable to venture into the mountains).

Today's storm brought hail the size of a grain of wheat, but never the size of a golf ball.

Hail the size of a golf ball would do major damage here and I really don't want to see that(but ultimately we can't fight nature).

But as far as I know, not very far from here (here I mean 200 km) there is special equipment at weather stations that can launch anti-hail missiles and, as far as I have seen, they are successful here.

Once again thank you very much for your presence here and for your support.
