Discovering the church of Saints Pietro and Filippo Pistoia( Eng/Ita/Esp)

Here I am again hivers, as you know when I have time and opportunity I love to visit places of culture and even though I am not religious, among my favorites are churches because they are full of art and fascinating, magical and sacred places. Today I had some free time and I went for a walk in a very beautiful church in the city near me, this church is dedicated to Saints Philip and Peter, it is located near the city center and is unfortunately little known and frequented, for Most of the attendees are part of the Filipino community and thanks to them the church is always clean and tidy. As soon as I entered, obviously I made the sign of the cross and found only a Filipino lady inside who was very kind and welcoming, allowing me to take some photos. The church is Catholic, the main cult here in Italy, it is often open to the public and is a true masterpiece of beautiful works of art. The very simple exterior does not convey the beauty of the interior which is instead rich. Unfortunately the church is poorly lit which makes it more difficult to appreciate the works but it is illuminated during the celebrations.

Eccomi di nuovo qui hivers,come sapete quando ho tempo e modo amo visitare luoghi di cultura e pur non essendo religiosa tra i miei preferiti ci sono le chiese perché piene di arte e affascinanti, luoghi magici e sacri. Oggi avevo del tempo libero e mi sono recata a fare una passeggiata in un chiesa molto bella nella città vicino a me, questa chiesa è dedicata ai santi Filippo e Pietro, si trova vicino al centro città ed è però ahime poco conosciuta e frequentata, per lo più i frequentatori fanno parte della comunità filippina e grazie a loro la chiesa è sempre pulita e sistemata. Appena entrata ovviamente ho fatto il segno della croce e ho trovato dentro solo una signora filippina che è stata molto gentile ed accogliente pernettendomi di fare qualche foto.La chiesa è di culto cattolico il culto principale qui in Italia, è aperta spesso al pubblico ed è un vero capolavoro di opere di arte, bellissima. L' esterno molto semplice non rende la bellezza dell' interno che invece è ricco. Purtroppo la chiesa è scarsamente illuminata ciò rende piu difficile apprezzare le opere ma viene illuminata durante le celebrazioni.

Aquí estoy nuevamente hivers, como saben cuando tengo tiempo y oportunidad me encanta visitar lugares de cultura y aunque no soy religiosa, entre mis favoritas están las iglesias porque están llenas de arte y lugares fascinantes, mágicos y sagrados. Hoy tuve algo de tiempo libre y fui a caminar a una iglesia muy hermosa en la ciudad cerca de mí, esta iglesia está dedicada a los Santos Felipe y Pedro, está ubicada cerca del centro de la ciudad y lamentablemente es poco conocida y frecuentada, por la mayoría de los asistentes son parte de la comunidad filipina y gracias a ellos la iglesia está siempre limpia y ordenada. Tan pronto como entré, obviamente hice la señal de la cruz y solo encontré a una señora filipina adentro que fue muy amable y acogedora, permitiéndome tomar algunas fotos. La iglesia es católica, el culto principal aquí en Italia, a menudo está abierta al público y es una verdadera obra maestra de bellas obras de arte. El exterior muy sencillo no transmite la belleza del interior, que por el contrario es rico. Lamentablemente la iglesia está mal iluminada lo que dificulta la apreciación de las obras pero está iluminada durante las celebraciones.

The church has medieval origins and was initially dedicated to Propsper, then it was taken over by a group of friars who began to place works of art there including the flagellation, a rather crude work that was not appreciated by everyone. In 1600 the church was enlarged and the frescoes of the dome that you can see behind the altar were made by Domenico Ferretti (painter of the Rococo era) and the Fabroniana library was added to the church which owes its name to Cardinal Fabroni, full of religious texts and open to all, of which today there is only the writing on the wall and there are no more texts or books, all of which have been moved to another library. The church can be visited in about half an hour and there are many works to look at, the painted ceiling is also of rare beauty. It is a small, semi-unknown jewel but if you come to Pistoia I recommend you visit it.

La chiesa ha origini medievali era inizialmente dedicata a Propspero poi è stata presa da un otdine di frati che hanno cominciato a metterci opere di arte tra cui la flagellazione un opera abbastanza cruda che non era apprezzata da tutti. Nel 1600 la chiesa venne ampliata e furono fatti da Domenico Ferretti ( pittore dell' epoca Rococo) gli affreschi della cupola che potete vedere in fondo dietro l' altare e alla chiesa venne affiancata la biblioteca Fabroniana che deve il suo nome ad il cardinale Fabroni, piena di testi religiosi e aperta a tutti, di cui oggi c'è solo la scritta sul muro e non c'è piu testi o libri tutti spostati ad un' altra biblioteca. La chiesa si visita bene in circa una mezz'ora e sono molte le opere da guardare, il soffitto dipinto inoltre è di rara bellezza. È un piccolo gioiello semi sconosciuto ma se venite a Pistoia vi consiglio di visitarla.

La iglesia tiene orígenes medievales y inicialmente estuvo dedicada a Propsper, luego fue retomada por un grupo de frailes que comenzaron a colocar allí obras de arte, incluida la flagelación, una obra bastante tosca que no fue apreciada por todos. En 1600 la iglesia fue ampliada y los frescos de la cúpula que se pueden ver detrás del altar fueron realizados por Domenico Ferretti (pintor de la época rococó) y a la iglesia se añadió la biblioteca Fabroniana que debe su nombre al cardenal Fabroni, llena de textos religiosos y abiertos a todos, de los que hoy sólo queda la escritura en la pared y ya no quedan textos ni libros, todos los cuales han sido trasladados a otra biblioteca. La iglesia se puede visitar en aproximadamente media hora y hay muchas obras para contemplar, el techo pintado también es de una rara belleza. Es una pequeña joya semidesconocida pero si vienes a Pistoia te recomiendo visitarla.
