Special Mung Bean Porridge

Hello vegan enthusiasts, following the floods that hit the Aceh region, the electricity supply remains unstable and the internet connection is still very poor. I am unable to schedule my posts properly, and even now, I am facing challenges just to cook. Gas, the only readily available fuel, is in short supply. This is truly a crisis—the power outages have caused my cell phone to shut down as well. During these difficult times, I must manage my time as effectively as possible. After two days of power outages and no internet connection, I was happy to see the lights come back on tonight, though I still have to be cautious because the situation isn’t fully stable yet.
I took the opportunity to write down my recipe again—this one I made two days ago. This menu is very simple, I used the food supplies I had in my pantry. This time, I found some peeled green beans. Peeled mung beans are delicious, and I’m sure they’ll be great in any dish.
Mung Been Poridge (Scissor Porridge)
Porridge is indeed a favorite breakfast for many people in my area. There are many types of porridge that most people don't know about. This peeled shelled green beans porridge is the first sweet porridge recipe I've made from peeled mung beans without using coconut milk.

This peeled mung bean porridge is called Tuan Suan or Lek Tau Suan, but in other regions it is often known as Bubur gunting. This dish is a sweet dessert originating from Pontianak, West Kalimantan, which carries Chinese culture. This dish is prepared by combining peeled green beans with tapioca flour as a thickener. It is usually served with savory cakwe snacks, which I have prepared in a previous post.
Ingredients

2 tablespoons of tapioca flour
½ teaspoon of salt
1 pandan leaf
4 tablespoons of granulated sugar

Peeled Mung bean porridge, often known as Tuan Suan, is ready to serve. This dish has another name besides bubur tuan suan, and this dessert has different characteristics with a fairly authentic taste. The sweet and savory deliciousness of this dessert provides extraordinary warmth with every bite when enjoyed.

The porridge is very simple, but trust me, it has an extraordinary taste with a combination of simple ingredients. I usually enjoy porridge with coconut milk or milk, which I think tastes very good. Who would have thought that peeled green beans would give a different touch when cooked into porridge. I highly recommend you try this dish. Not only is it delicious, but it's also very easy to prepare anytime and anywhere with readily available ingredients.
