The end of the year is in sight, and I am closing the journey from this year by climbing a mountain in my area, where this is the first time I have climbed a mountain to reach its peak, this trip was a little tiring for me, but everything paid off by the beauty that I see after arriving at the top, there is no beauty without struggle

The mountain that I climbed is called Mount BURNI TELONG which is an active volcano, and has erupted 5 times in the past hundreds of years, and when this mountain is one of the best spots for nature lovers and climbers, let's see the story of my journey

This mountain is in Bener Meriah Regency, which is still relatively close to my house. It only took about three hours by riding a motorbike and I arrived at this mountain climbing post. Before starting to climb, I rested for a while at this post to start gathering energy. , what we are going to climb is a mountain that has a height of more than 2000 meters above sea level, to be precise, this mountain is 2600 meters above sea level, my heart is beating fast, because this is the first time, plus I have a phobia of heights

At the post we deposited the vehicle and paid for the entrance ticket with a total cost of IDR 40,000, name registration was also carried out so that with the aim of making it easier if something did not want to happen, and at the post we also saw the route we had to take to reach the top, and my adventure took two days, one night to arrive at the peak by passing three climbing shelters

The climb began by passing through the plantations belonging to the residents, I didn't have time to take pictures because I wanted to save my cellphone battery, two days is not a short time, and I only took a few pictures along the way.

Before reaching shelter 1, there is a place called the jungle door and it is a place to take water as a provision for the trip, climbing to reach this point takes about two hours from the climbing post, and from here the adrenaline starts to get stronger, the air temperature starts to get really cold felt, and the thick fog began to be seen everywhere, plus we hiked during the rainy season, my heart was really beating fast, that's where my guts started to be tested

Half an hour later, we arrived at the next point, where the climbing area was getting crazier, we had to climb rocks that were slippery and steep, it is highly recommended that when climbing this mountain to wear special shoes, safety is the main thing of all

It was getting dark, and we had arrived at the third shelter where the climbers set up tents to spend the night and rest before continuing the journey to the top, the temperature was really cold at night, I couldn't even sleep and decided to continue. being near the campfire, bringing makeshift provisions my friend and I started the journey again before sunrise, even though the atmosphere was still dark and cool, it was mandatory to arrive at the top on time

This is the fourth shelter which is in the middle of the peak, and this point is called a cave, where we have to climb very steep rocks, and only use a rope as a tool, I swear I sat still at this point because I was really scared, even my heart beats like a drum in the new year, the nature-loving students who joined me laughed to see me limp and helpless, I deliberately did all this to fight my phobia of heights, but I don't think it can be eliminated

This is the pinnacle of the paradise on earth that we are heading for, I joined the students who were my younger siblings when I was in college, they are members of a community of nature-loving youths, and they have climbed this mountain several times just to enjoy this unparalleled beauty. no seldi this time, my face is totally pale, but I still feel happy and proud to be able to see this real natural beauty

If only we hiked in the dry season maybe we would see this beautiful sunset from a height of thousands of meters, maybe someday I'll try it again, thick clouds are very close, I even imagined what it would be like to sit on those clouds, various hallucinations crossed my mind, I felt very calm, as if my life had no burden at all

In closing, I will give a picture of an eternal flower for all of you, this flower is one of the rare flowers and is only found on the top of the mountain, we often call it edelweis Or eternal flowers, and are flowers that are protected by the state, you can't bring these flowers home, at first I intended to bring them home as souvenirs for my mother, but it was forbidden and I had to hide this picture so that my mother wouldn't find it later😅
