Let’s make a delicious and nutritious Parippu Vade (Lentil vade).

Parippu Vade, also known simply as Parippu Vade, is a beloved Sri Lankan snack that beautifully combines flavor, texture, and nutrition. Primarily made from ground lentils mixed with spices and herbs, these crispy fritters offer a delightful savory experience — perfect for tea time or as a comforting treat on a rainy day.

Ingredients...

🍃 1 Cup of Lentil.
🍃 1 Small Onion.
🍃 Two or three green chilli pods.
🍃 curry leaves.
🍃 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
🍃 1 Teaspoon of Chili powder.
🍃 2 teaspoon crushed chili powder.
🍃 Salt as needed.
🍃 Coconut oil for frying.

The order of preparation.

First, finely chop the onions, curry leaves, and green chilies.

Meanwhile, let the lentils soak for about 10 minutes.

Next, blend the soaked lentils in a blender until they form a coarse paste.

Next, add the blended lentil paste to a bowl and mix in the chopped onions, green chilies, and curry leaves. Then, add chili flakes, chili powder, salt, and turmeric powder. Mix everything well until fully combined.

Next, take portions of the lentil mixture and shape them as shown below.

Next, take a pan and add coconut oil to it. Place it on the stove, and once the oil is heated, fry the shaped vada until they turn golden brown.
