[ESP/ENG] Golpe de autoridad de Venezuela en V Clásico Mundial de Béisbol

Con el encuentro entre Venezuela y República Dominicana dio inicio el llamado Grupo de la Muerte (Grupo D) que reúne a tres de los equipos favoritos a ganar o a subir al podio de premiaciones del V Clásico Mundial de Béisbol: República Dominicana, Venezuela y Puerto Rico.

Los de la tierra del merengue ganaron el III Clásico Mundial y los boricuas han sido subcampeones en los dos últimos clásicos en los que han perdido en la final, primero contra los de República Dominicana y en el más reciente contra la selección de los Estados Unidos.

De este trío sólo Venezuela no ha llegado a la final de los clásicos anteriores, pero alcanzaron un tercer puesto en el Segundo Clásico Mundial cuando perdieron en semifinales contra el equipo de Corea del Sur y sus jugadores son de los más importantes del mundo y en la preparación realizada previo al inicio de este torneo el equipo se vio mucho mejor que en las ediciones precedentes.

Los otros dos equipos no tienen el calibre de estos tres, pero tanto Nicaragua como Israel han demostrado que tienen oficio y dominan más allá del ABC del béisbol.

En el caso de los Nicas con participaciones en campeonatos mundiales, Panamericanos y Centroamericanos y jugadores insertados en varias ligas de importancia internacional; mientras los israelíes están conformado con jugadores que en su gran mayoría son descendientes de norteamericanos.

En Clásicos Mundiales estos dos equipos tienen resultados muy diferentes, pues, mientras República Dominicana ha tenido una participación exitosa los representantes de la selección Vinotinto no han logrado llenar las expectativas de sus más fieles seguidores ni de los que amamos este deporte y sabemos de la calidad histórica de estos equipos y de sus jugadores.

Mientras los dominicanos han llegado en una mejor forma deportiva y han logrado reunir selecciones competitivas, los venezolanos han presentado buenas selecciones, pero sus eloteros han estado carentes de una adecuada forma técnica lo que les ha impedido mostrar la calidad que tienen sus peloteros y su béisbol.

Otro elemento importante que puede mencionarse en esta antesala es que por ambos equipos han participado peloteros de los más importantes que ha dado el béisbol en ambos países. Por ejemplo, nombres como Albert Pujols, Johan Santana, David Ortiz o Miguel Cabrera por solo mencionar a algunos podrían llenar esta publicación de las estrellas de ambos equipos que han representado a estos países.

Por cierto, Miguel Cabrera se convierte en uno de los peloteros con más clásicos jugados con cinco y es sobreviviente del I Clásico Mundial celebrado en el año 2006. El otro es el mexicano Oliver Pérez.

Estos dos equipos tienen una rivalidad que los convierte en duelos que constituyen verdaderos duelos del béisbol internacional. Hace tan solo unos días dos de los equipos que representan a las ligas de estos países discutieron la final de la Serie del Caribe y en esa ocasión los dominicanos vencieron a los venezolanos.

A pesar de esta rivalidad Venezuela nunca ha logrado vencer a los dominicanos en este evento en los que ha caído en los cuatro enfrentamientos efectuados.

Otro elemento importante era alcanzar la vitoria porque en este torneo en el que clasifican dos equipos solamente es importante derrotar a todos los rivales, pero en especial a los que constituyen rivales directos y este es uno de esos casos.

A partir de lo anterior los directores de ambos equipos tenían que definir bien claro sus posibles abridores y utilización posterior de los relevistas y definir bien los regulares de ambas novenas que les garantizara el cumplimiento del plan táctico del equipo teniendo en cuenta debilidades y fortalezas del rival.

El juego

Fue un buen juego de béisbol que estuvo equilibrado, pero que tuvo momentos importantes dentro del encuentro que los venezolanos supieron capitalizar y los llevaron directo a la victoria.

Cuando República Dominicana anotó la primera carrera iniciando el juego se prendieron las alarmas porque según los entendidos esta es el área menos fuerte del equipo y que más preocupa a la afición.

No obstante, sería la única vez que llegaran los dominicanos a la registradora y en lo adelante Martín Pérez se encargaría de eslabonar un grupo de entradas sin permitir carreras algo que los demás relevistas imitarían, para dejar a los de la tierra de Quisqueya con una sola anotación.

Por su parte, Venezuela logró empatar en el segundo inning por jonrón de Santander y dos entradas más tarde anota dos carreras para irse delante y no perder nunca más la delantera. Sus opciones aumentaron cuando en la sexta y la octava entrada anotaron la cuarta y quinta carreras que decretaron la primera victoria de la vinotinto.

Claves de la victoria del equipo venezolano

•A juicio de este autor lo más meritorio fue la actuación de sus lanzadores y más si tenemos en cuenta que es el aspecto menos fuerte de esta selección y el nivel ofensivo de sus rivales.

Un comentario final

Venezuela ha dado un golpe sobre la mesa al vencer a uno de los equipos de más rango dentro de la competencia y que mejor promedio de ganados y perdidos tenía antes de comenzar la competición. De hecho, fue su primera victoria en clásicos frente a los dominicanos y los coloca en una posición inmejorable, en sus aspiraciones de seguir avanzando y llegar a la siguiente fase.

El equipo demostró que el objetivo esencial de este equipo que es ganar el V Clásico Mundial no es una quimera, pues tienen equipo suficiente para lograrlo. No será una empresa fácil, pero en el empeño de alcanzar ese objetivo ya dieron el importante primer paso y enviaron un aviso, para todos los participantes de este torneo: Venezuela está lista para ganar un Clásico Mundial de Béisbol.

The game

It was a good baseball game that was balanced, but had important moments in the game that the Venezuelans were able to capitalize on and lead them straight to victory.

• The cheerful, dynamic and aggressive play allowed them to tie the game, turn it around and never lose it again until the end of the game.

• The team had a good offensive production and the fact that they were facing the best pitcher in the American League of Major League Baseball, Sandy Alcantara, proves it.

A final comment

Venezuela has given a blow on the table by defeating one of the highest ranked teams in the competition and the one that had the best win-loss average before the start of the competition. In fact, it was their first victory in classics against the Dominicans and places them in an unbeatable position in their aspirations to continue advancing and reach the next phase.

The team demonstrated that the essential objective of this team, which is to win the V World Classic, is not a chimera, as they have enough equipment to achieve it.
