When I was little, I was a very weak child and I often got sick. At such times, my grandmother would make and feed me her healing recipes and I would recover quickly. She has many recipes, I love them all, but one of my favorites is beetroot! I have loved beetroot since I was a child because of its color, even when I was a little girl I used to take the juice of the beetroot with my fingers and put it on my lips to make lipstick (I still do! 🀦). Yesterday, while reading some articles on hive.blog, I came across a recipe published by dear @sirenahippie and this recipe reminded me of my grandmother's recipes. So I wanted to prepare a beautiful beetroot recipe both to remember her again and to give you a colorful and healing idea.

Let me honor my grandmother with this article! πŸ€πŸ§‘β€πŸ³

I always buy beets at the town market every week! I always have beets at home. Ever since my grandmother told me that beetroot cleanses the body of radiation, I have been eating beetroot regularly. Especially nowadays I spend a lot of time with technological devices and I need to cleanse. I am grateful for what my dear grandmother, that wise woman, taught me! I got a lot of information from her that I will teach my children in the future. After a short summary of my loving story with beetroot, I can now move on to my recipe!

Necessary ingredients ;

  • 1 medium sized beet
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preparation;

First of all, I bake the beetroot in the oven for about 15 minutes to soften it a little. It doesn't need to soften too much, but you can cook it as much as you want, I am against overcooking vegetables!

Then I cut the cooked beetroot into cubes. Be careful not to do it with bare hands like me, otherwise such images come out. πŸ€¦πŸ˜‚

Then I put the diced beets on the plate where I will serve them and add olive oil and salt. Finally, I add finely chopped parsley and make it ready to serve.

It turns out such a tremendously beautiful image. It is both very healthy, delicious and appealing to the eye. I can say it is one of my favorite recipes. I have many recipes like this, but since I am not in my own home, I can make limited shares for now. I can't wait to share the others. I hope you like and try. Bon Appetit to those who will try it already!

Hello @trouvaille

Sorry for being so late to comment on your nice post, but electricity and connection problems make my work difficult.

I loved your post, because you have shared part of your personal history, you have told us about your grandmother, it is so nice to remember our relatives, especially those who took care of us when we were children, it is an honor that my recipe has made you remember her , I'm happy for that.

The market where you buy your vegetables is great, I love the variety, the colors, the freshness, it is a privilege to be able to go to places where you can buy our quality fruits and vegetables.

I did not know that beets cleanse the body of radiation, I will keep that in mind, since I spend a lot of time on the PC too. Without a doubt, your grandmother was a wise person, who knew that food should be medicine.

Your recipe is delicious, beets, whether raw or cooked, are always delicious and gentle on our bodies. For example, in my country, Venezuela, we eat it a lot in raw or cooked salads, and we drink a juice that we call "3 in 1", which we make with beets, carrots and oranges, all raw, it's excellent for the eyes, skin and to raise hemoglobin levels.

Thanks for sharing your great recipes in the Plant Power Vegan community. Greetings and happy week.

Greetings, good morning, the sun has not risen here yet β˜ΊοΈπŸ™πŸŒΈ

Thank you for your goodwill and nice comment. I usually share my own recipes here, but when I saw your recipe, I thought of my grandmother's recipes and why don't I share them? I asked myself. Because they are all very healing recipes and I think they will contribute to people. And I am sure my dear grandmother would be very happy about it. πŸ™

I've been getting a lot of signs about Venezuela lately and I keep running into people who live there. I even watched a movie last night and it was set in Venezuela. I feel close to the culture and the struggling attitude of the people there. While watching it, I felt like settling there. I even thought about this. How much does it cost to buy a nice house with a garden there πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦ Maybe I will never come there, but my heart loves Venezuela with you 🀍

What a nice comment!

It's great that you share your grandmother's recipes, because people can count on an alternative to heal themselves with food, and yes, I'm sure your grandmother would be very happy.

Well, I will tell you that Venezuela was a great country, before communism entered my country. Currently, after more than two decades of communism, my nation is destroyed, so I would not recommend it to live, there is a lot of institutional anomie, a lot of insecurity, a total destruction of society and its institutions, and also hyperinflation. It is for this reason that approximately 8 million Venezuelans have migrated in recent years; perhaps you have received signals from Venezuela, because we have spread all over the planet, and many of my compatriots carry Venezuela in their hearts (others do not). I don't know what country you live in, but comparatively very few countries have a worse quality of life than here.

And a house with a garden can be cheap, depending on the place you choose, what happens is that many people have migrated and left their homes behind, and the market is saturated with properties for sale.

Thank you very much for your nice words.

I know that unfortunately the movie I saw was about that. I felt as much as I can tell from a movie how people were forced and I was very sad. It is a very precious country and it does not deserve these things. Especially the people there are very brave and that's what I like most about you. I will pray for you to be safe. One day everything will be better than before, I hope the generations after us will live in a more beautiful and just world! My heart and good prayers are always with you πŸ™πŸ€πŸŒΈ
