Homemade Sourdough Recipe

It's really easy to have homemade bread at home...

I'm starting to create some quality loaves in my own house, something I thought would take a lot longer to figure out. But it truely is easy. It's mostly time and observation, not really a bunch of technique

This loaf is made of:

  • 50g active starter
    245g cool water
    310g flour
    healthy pinch of salt

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl till all combined. Did a couple pull and stretches in the bowl after a couple hours to mix it all together.

half mixed

After some pull and stretched 3 hrs in

After 4/5 hours I do stretch fold from the top and bottom, 2/3 side pulls in alternating from side to side.A quick internet search will offer you tonnes of techniques.

Bring the oven up to 450, with the dutch oven inside so it also comes up to full temperature. Really want it to almost steam itself when the dough gets dropped in. Bake closed for 23 minutes. Don't peak, don't open the lid till that time is up. Than its time for the big reveal to see how it grew.

Big reveal after 23 mins

After the 23mins, take the lid off and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Turn the oven off, leave the oven door closed for another 20mins. Than leave ajar till cooled. The best loaves are cut after their cooled down.

Cheers!

Thanks, I'm still learning, and really enjoying it as I figure out the ferment.

Would like to try something like this as well. I like cooking but I've never tried to make bread!
