Splinterlands: NAGA BRUTE; Peaceful Yet Dangerous
Evening Splinterlands Fans
Time for the SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge.
For this week battle challenge we are gonna go with a new monster to the No Attack family, NAGA BRUTE. NAGA BRUTE is a common dice dragon monster. Costing 6 mana, it have heavy Void Armor right from level-1 and gets Thorns ability at level-5 and Return Fire at level-8.
Being recently introduced, I own only level-1 NAGA BRUTE. I plan on upgrading it to at least level-8, as soon as I get a nice deal.
Currently there are 8,234 normal foil and 435 gold foil NAGA BRUTEs in circulation, costing 0.18$/BCX and 1.05$/BCX respectively. That is pretty expensive for a common monster.
NAGA BRUTE Among Other No Attacks
The million dollar question is where NAGA BRUTE stands among other No Attacks and is it worth the mana cost and upgarde cost.
When compared to other commons No Attacks like PEACEFUL GIANT, GELATINOUS CUBE and FAILED SUMMONER, the best selling point of NAGA BRUTE is its heavy Void Armor right form level-1. It can serve as a nice defensive option in multi attack war theater, when backed with healer and shield repairer.
Favored Battle Rules
NAGA BRUTE can be used in all battle rules. But it works best in Rise of the Commons rule set when other legendary tanks are unavailable.
Placement
NAGA BRUTE can serve a nice tank upfront where it can soak up all kind of damage due to its Void Armor. It can also serve as a nice sneak protector in back ranks.
How to Use
NAGA BRUTE can be complemented in variety of ways using various summoners and monsters.
DRAKE OF ARNAKsummoner can provideNAGA BRUTEwith extra shield.
- Repair ability monsters can serve a nice option to continuously repair the Armor of
NAGA BRUTE.
- Backing
NAGA BRUTEwith Heal ability monster is a nice ploy is a nice ploy too.
- Shield from protect ability monsters can provide extra protection to
NAGA BRUTE.
- Triage ability monsters can also be used to heal
NAGA BRUTEin back ranks.
NAGA BRUTE's low health can be complemented by Strengthen ability monsters.
Defense
The best way to take out NAGA BRUTE is by using heavy magic attack since it have no magic reflect ability. The other option is of course ignore the NAGA BRUTE and target other monsters with Snipe, Sneak and Opportunity attacks.

This was a 20 mana battle with two battle rule, Equalizer and Rise of the Commons.

DARIA DRAGONSTONE
I used DARIA DRAGONSCALE summoner since I wanted to go with full on melee attack.
NAGA BRUTE
Since Rise of the Common and Equalizer battle rules are in effect so I used NAGA BRUTE as a tank. Equalizer ruleset ensures that NAGA BRUTE gets extra health.
FAILED SUMMONER
On one down position, I placed another No Attack, FAILED SUMMONER. Costing just two mana, FAILED SUMMONER can take a nice beating.
KHMER PRINCESS
Next I placed the low cost healer, KHMER PRINCESS. The Equalizer rule set gives low health monsters the real edge.
SCREECHING VULTURE
Next I placed my favorite Opportunity monster, SCREECHING VUTURE. Again equalizer ruleset makes VULTURE far more deadly.
GOBLIN CHEF
After the VULTURE, I placed the affliction monster, GOBLIN CHEF to keep enemy healing plans in check.
FURIOUIS CHICKEN
On the very last, I placed the free mana monster, FURIOUS CHICKEN to absorb the sneak attacks.
BATTLE ANALYSIS
The battle went as planned. NAGA BRUTE and FAILED SUMMONER did well to soak up all the damage, giving SCREECHING VULTYRE time to inflict damage on the enemy. GOBLIN CHEF's affliction also came in pretty handy.

Good strategy, despite the high damage of the enemy archers, the Naga Brute and the Failed summoner slowed down the opponent's advance, with the help of healing and a giant Vulture with enormous damage. Congratulations.
