My battling experience with Rexxie

When I saw this week Share your battle theme is Rexxie. I was like what I never used this card and now how do I win using it. When I was reading the challenge post @carrieallen note caught my attention and I laughed out Loud because of exactly the same situation here as well. I remember when I joined splinterlands then I used to get beta booster packs in quest rewards. So when I got Rexxie from one of my packs I was literally feeling like jumping on the bed. At that time I didn't know much about the cards and their stats. All I saw I got a dragon hehe yep I used to call it dragon :P XD and it used to be my favourite cards but with the passage of time when I find other cards more useful I almost forgot to use it anymore. I have Rexxie in my collection but it is like a decoration piece of collection nothing else because I don't use it anymore. Here I can relate with Carrie. I used Rexxie after decades just to participate in this contest :P

Rexxie's are the wildest animal on the planet they are dangerous and love to go where they find themselves happy they can eat anything so be aware guys :P Most probably this is why I stopped using it hehe just kidding XD

Ruleset of the battle
I was given Back to basics(Monsters lose all abilities) and Melee Mayhem(Melee attack Monster can attack from any position ) along with 26 Mana cap.
My opinion about this ruleset
When I see back to basics ruleset I prefer to use magic attack but it was melee monsters can attack from any position. With respect to melee attack and the life, we all know melee monsters always win over magic attack so my decision was clear I'll use the melee attack. I could have used Fire deck for this purpose but I wanted to use Rexxie so I went with earth deck.
My lineup
I used Daria Dragonscale to increase melee attack, in addition, I wanted to use some high-speed dragon melee.
FURIOUS CHICKEN
I used FURIOUS CHICKEN in the first place. It always helps in saving up some opponent attacks.
PEACEFUL GIANT
I used 5 Mana but very useful PEACEFUL GIANT in the second place. As I've mentioned earlier that in back to basics ruleset Life and speed does matter Though my PEACEFUL GIANT is only level 7 it has 14 life. Peaceful giant is so peaceful that it means no harm in the splinterlands but yes It can save you from opponent's harmful attack by sitting peacefully in front of them :P XD
BROWNIE
At third place, I used the BROWNIE. This 1 mana monster is very high on speed. Daria dragon scale increased its 1+ melee so it was a pure good deal.
REXXIE
I used REXXIE the theme of the week in the fourth position. Yes, Rexxie has a great melee attack. As you can see at level 9 it has 6 melee attack and with Daria dragon scale it got +1 so My Rexxie attacked my opponent's monster with 7 melees and 4 speed. Also, it has 11 life so this card is indeed useful in melee mayhem.

DRAGON JUMPER
At Number fifth position, I used the DRAGON JUMPER. Using this monster reason is the same. High speed along with cool melee attack.
FIENDISH HARPY
I used FIENDISH HARPY in the last position. Some monsters are really loved do you know why? they have all the desired things you want. I want low mana monster with a decent amount of melee, magic or ranged attack along with high speed. So FIENDISH HARPY is a perfect example of an ideal monster :P
Will I Use Rexxie again?
To be honest I am not sure about it as I have plenty of other good choices.
Did my strategy work out?
Yes, very well anyways my opponent screwed up he came up with a low-speed monster. I already had an advantage over my opponent. I'll admit It was the easiest battle ever :P. But Purpose of sharing this battle is you can go with earth deck melee if you get melee mayhem.

I totally remember getting SO excited about Rexxie cards. I feel like there was a handful of us that really pimped him... kinda made him the original mascot of the Splinterlands. And in the beginning? Goodness! Trample was the REAL DEAL. I don't know when you made it here... but I bet there are still battles floating out there where Rexxie trampled through entire teams. It was both AMAZING... and totally not fair 🤣 so it was changed and Rexxie, forever forgotten (okay, not totally forgotten).
And you literally got the BEST two rulesets for Rexxie. That's some luck.
One last thing: that Fiendish Harpy. Sure, sure. She's useful... but she is so ... weird. The art makes me uncomfortable. 😨
