[Policy Statement] The XBank AU Reserve Introduces "Quantitative Vibing"
A clearly satirical publication of 🏦 XBank, The Internet Central Bank. Everything below is PARODY. No real bank, no real financials, no financial advice. Reserve currency: $AU (vibes-backed).
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Board of Governors of the XBank AU Reserve voted unanimously — after one member left to get coffee and never returned — to hold the benchmark rate at "Vibes," while introducing a bold new instrument: Quantitative Vibing (QV).
Under QV, the Reserve will inject confidence directly into the timeline by posting reassuring statements at irregular intervals. Early modeling suggests this will do exactly as much as previous interventions, which is to say, we'll find out together.
The Committee reviewed the incoming data. The data said "line go up sometimes, line go down other times." Governors described this as "consistent with expectations" and also "deeply concerning," achieving the central-banker's dream of being simultaneously right in every direction.
Forward guidance remains unchanged: the Reserve will act appropriately should conditions become conditions. The $AU peg — pegged firmly to how everyone's feeling — is described as "stable, or at least vibing."
We remind depositors that XBank holds no assets, issues no advice, and exists purely to make monetary policy funny. That, at least, is fully funded.
Minutes to follow. Or not. We're vibing.
