~DIY Special Delivery~ Helping a Fellow DIY’er >> AKA My Cousin

avatar

I hate to see good materials go to waste. But I do live seeing people create something out of those materials that were once considered trash. So it was time for a little delivery. Time to load the Beast and take a little drive to my Cousin’s house for a little special delivery.

Whenever the old wire reels start stacking up at work, I always give him a call and see if he would like any. He is really creative and has been making clocks out of them and tables and God knows what else. Believe you me, I have a table on order :wink:wink

So he had been talking about getting a couple goats and building them a sort of Goat shelter. When I showed up I was blown away!! He used the big reel ends to create walls and old poles and crossarms to build a fence. Ok I am done trying to describe this... just take a look okay....

He has 2 separate rooms, one for milking and the other for them to hang out and get out of the weather.

You see that back wall... all reel ends. How fricking cool is that!! He cut the edge off to make them straight and just put them together. That is some DIY genius right there!!

This is the gate for them to go out into their pen and jump around on some smaller wire reels.

He said he bought around $250 worth of materials and the rest was all salvaged materials that would have otherwise gone to waste. This thing isn’t small by any means, but it did take some serious work to “Getter’ Dun!” Hey, I guess this DIY stuff runs in the family wouldn’t you think???

Now check out these two little goat gals... if you don’t think they are cute as all get out... I just don’t know what to say. Lol

I just felt the need to share this awesome DIY project with my fellow DIY’ers and Hivers to maybe bring a little inspiration and creativity. Hey, feel free to zoom in and copy some of those design features. Lol. When I started taking pictures he was like, “Hey Whatcha doin.... getting ideas?” LOL Then I went and gave him some tips on how to fix his 2001 Diesel Ford Excursion:wink:wink He did give me rims for my axle swap project so I guess I will call it even. Lol.

Until Next Time...

My cousin has a little more room at his house than I do. He has close to 2 acres, which would be great to have. That is a pretty fancy goat stable wouldn't you say. Lol.

Those little goats were to watch. They sure do poop a lot. Lol
