Lunch Run - What a wet one

(Edited)

I just finished a 6.284km running that lasted about 0hh:35mm:22ss !

Despite the forecast of wet weather I decided to go out anyway. It was not too bad to start with, but the rain got worse whilst I was out. I was well soaked by the end, but not too cold.

I did not set up a specific routine, but tried some Fartlek sprints to get my heart going. I saw a couple of other runners out there. My cold is persisting, but I felt okay whilst I was running even if I may be a little slower. It may be the lack of running this month that resulted in sore legs later on.

My podcast listening was Stack Overflow, Python Bytes and Home Studio Corner (back after nearly 2 years). Not much wildlife to report. I saw a crow pecking at one of his own kind. That is the circle of life :)

You have uploaded 95 running activities, and 16 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 16 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 103.64 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:56 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.628min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

Good run! But what are Fartlek sprints? :D

It's just an improvised form of intervals. You pick when to sprint. There's a temptation to wait until you have recovered a bit, so I will switch back to set programmes soon. Just wanted to get this run over and done with.

Ohh okay cool!
I used to sprint from lamp to lamp and then jog/walk to the next lamp and then sPrint again. That worked well :D

That's basically what it is. It's 'speed play' in Swedish. Everyone seems to say that intervals are the best training.

So "hurtig leg"? I cant translate to swedish, but I can translate it into Danish, same same, but not really :D

It is quite good and yes a lot of people are saying that

Wow, that is a pretty impressive run! The rain probably wouldn't be too bad as long as it isn't overly cold out. Here it is very cold. I couldn't imagine running other than on a treadmill. I just run in place when I am doing the intervals during my morning routine.

It was pretty mild for the time of year, so I was okay. I knew I had a hot shower waiting for me. I don't have access to a treadmill. I used to have an elliptical trainer, but found running was better.

We got rid of our elliptical before we moved. I found it boring and it hurt my wife's knees. I'd rather be on a treadmill.
