Enderal: Forgotten Stories - First Impressions!

I had no idea that Enderal existed until earlier today when one of my Steam friends opened it. "Oooh," I said to myself. "What's that?" and I then educated myself, as one does in this world of one-click-knowledge. xD

Coded from Skyrim, Enderal is a stand-alone mod that's actually it's own game that totally fulfills my desperate need for yet another Open World Adventure RPG Thing. Lately I've been complaining to my partner that I just want another Elder Scrolls game, a new one, a new story, with more than five voice actors... and with this stand-alone mod game thing, my wish has been granted!

...I'm two hours in and I've heard at least seven different voice actors! Hallelujah!

Also, it's freeeeee! ... Providing you already own Skyrim. Oldrim to be precise.

And it's beautiful. I can't stop taking screenshots.

Apparently the game has between 30 and 100 hours of content depending on your playstyle... I am very a much an exploratory completionist type so I'm looking forward to losing a couple of weeks of my life. I've barely scratched the surface.

The introductory opening scene was the right amount of intriguing and morbid. What happens next leaves you curious. And when my person entered a magical area and got some arcane fever thing for the first time, I was horrified - what's going on!? and actually felt worried for my character.

Amazing.

So far, everyone I've met has died painful deaths. My ship-friend and two apothecaries. Not to mention my family, apparently. And now I'm helping some guy and I'm fully expecting him to die too... although... something I really like...

I said something to him...

...and he APPROVED. "Jespar liked that".

I do like a relationship system and I'm looking forward to discovering more.

All in all, this game looks really positive right now and I'm looking forward to having a day free where I can truly dig my claws into it and get hooked.

It's rated overwhelmingly positive on Steam, and the minimal negative reviews seem a bit fuss-potty - "Oh, it's too hard." "Oh, someone's shoving an agenda down my throat." "Oh, I actually have to EAT and SLEEP. I want instant gratification."

Uh-huh. I'll just be here, enjoying it. 😁

Until next time!

Thanks for stopping by! 😊

You have tempted me into trying this with all the above :)
However, I have a very low-end system with just 4GB RAM and stock graphics. Do you think it will run on it?

I don't want to install and then be disappointed, won't recover from that heartbrek.

Hello! Sorry this reply took such a long time - I wrote this post and then went straight to bed. 😅

Unfortunately, I don't believe your system will be able to run this. I'm on 8GB RAM with a very low-end graphics card marginally better than the Intel HD it would otherwise run with and I'm only just able to run this acceptably.

I'm getting about 25-35 FPS depending on what area I'm in, but it has fallen to 18 a couple of times. Still, I want to play, so I push through it! Haha.

I'm sorry! It's created using Skyrim, so if you can play a graphics-overhauled-Skyrim you should be able to play this. 😊

You know how they say, the world is a cruel place? My laptop actually makes me believe in that. 😁
