Floating Table Making|| Tensegrity Structure [EN-ES]

When I was studying civil construction it was difficult for me to assimilate the structural systems of traction, compression and flexibility.

Precisely in my creative endeavor today I was able to actually make a floating table that seems to defy gravity, but in reality it is not. This system is known as tensegrity structures, a system that takes over cables (traction) and the rigidity of other elements, promoting stability.

Cuando estudiaba construcción civil me resultaba difícil asimilar los sistemas estructurales de tracción, compresión y flexibilidad.

Precisamente en mi tarea creativa de hoy pude realidad una mesa flotante que parece desafiar la gravedad, pero en realidad no es así. Éste sistema se conoce como estructuras de tensegridad, un sistema que se apropia de cables (tracción) y de la rigidez de otros elementos propiciando estabilidad.

In this case, I used thin ropes and wooden pallets (tension and compression) to form a small floating table.

I used a gif as an example so you can see the flexibility and strength of this type of design and structure.

En éste caso, utilicé cuerdas delgadas y paletas de madera (tracción y compresión) para formar una pequeña mesa flotante.

Puse como ejemplo un gif para que vea la flexibilidad y la firmeza de éste dipo de diseño y estructura.

Right now, the architectural design exhibits many decorations with this system. Today's example can serve as a guide for those who wish to make a decorative table with this model.

Ahora mismo, el diseño arquitectónico exhibe muchas decoraciones con éste sistema. El ejemplo de hoy puede servir como una guía para los que deseen realizar una mesa decorativa con éste modelo.

For this table model glue several pallets forming two equal triangles. I marked a point on each corner on one triangle and on the other I marked a point in the middle of the wood on each side of the triangle. Then drill each point to pass the wire or thin nylon.

Para éste modelo de mesa pegue varias paletas formando dos triángulos iguales. Marqué en un triángulo un punto en cada esquina y en el otro marqué un punto en el medio de la madera de cada lado del triángulo. Luego perfore cada pundo para pasar el cable o nailon delgado.

It is important to find the balance in this system, with a lot of patience, good results always come out. The first nylon I tied was the one in the center because it serves as a guide for balance.

Es importante encontrar el equilibrio en éste sistema, con mucha paciencia siempre salen buenos resultados. El primer nailon que amarré fue el del centro porque sirve como guía para hayar el equilibrio.
