Hive Power Up Day Delegations for March
We are late - again - this month with our delegations. This time there are two reasons: I am still largely AFK, recovering from a particularly nasty tummy bug that made my brain - never mind the world - fall out of my bottom and, this month, there was not one eligible account that participated in the March HivePUD. We have reached out to a few people working with noobs on the blockchain and even via Lovesniper (Traci and @coquicoin are members of that team) - nada, niks, nothing.
First, a necessary digression for the other reason I've been AFK
I mentioned in my Power Up Day post that we were having a long overdue break beside the seaside. I plan to share more about that in the coming weeks as I get on top of RL (again! ha!). That said, the timing of the break revolved around a wedding. I'm deciding whether or not that's my story to tell, but in the meantime, I am going to share a photograph (or two) that I took that happy day from the spectacular venue.
They were married on a rooftop that looked on to Cape Town's iconic Table Mountain.
Lion's Head cast a spectacular shadow in the early evening light.
Then a short rain shower brought wonderful African blessings and a rainbow.
Now, back to business
Hive Power Up Day Delegations
Because I know how difficult it is to get going on this blockchain and because I had a lot of help when I started, I'm paying it forward. Each month, this involves three, three week delegations of 100 HP to redfish who participate in #hivepud. Also, this is a social blockchain so community, communication and engagement are key - all of this takes resources that are scarce for red fish. It's also a mostly caring community and it's caring gave rise to this collaboration. I am glad because truth be told, as much as I'd like to be increasing the size and/or number of my own delegations, RL demands on my liquid Hive and HBD don't allow. When that changes, this will, too.
In the meantime, Power Up Day is all about numbers and strength. For individual Hiveans, it's about adding Hive (numbers) to your wallet. This strengthens your presence on the blockchain: the resources you need for voting, posting and engaging (commenting).
March Power Up Day
If you don't know what happens on Hive Power Up Day and how accounts stand to gain, read @traciyork's Power Up Day post and join next month?
The Power of Three delegations - if you didn't follow the link...
Each month I, and now @coquicoin and @lizelle, set aside 300 HP each - a total of 900HP. Then we each individually delegate 100HP to the three accounts that meet the basic Power Up Day Criteria.
In our case, though, and given our focus on redfish, the accounts must also be -
- be less than 6 months old **
- have at least two qualifying posts since the previous power up day.
Posts that qualify must have 200 words or more and exclude posts for Power Up Day, and Actifit.
As a reminder, the reason I added the second criterion is because -
Hive is a social blockchain: it's for socialising, ruminating and just generally hanging out.- a reputation of less than 61
- not more than 500 HP in their accounts before they power up - both on the first of the month
** This criterion is under review, and when I explain about this month's qualifying accounts, you'll understand why.
We are also considering adding another, but more of that when we've done some homework.
Qualifying accounts for February
Again, this month, instead of extremely slim pickings from among the participants in Traci York's initiative, there was just not one qualifying account.
Also Traci's didn't have a suggestion.
So we've gone out on a limb, and picked two people who registered their accounts a while ago, and like so many of us, just didn't get going for ages, and now just have. So, we figured we'd give them a helping hand, too, given we're all about supporting folk who want to get established on the blockchain.
Also, remember
So one recipient from last month will again get a delegation.
This means that this month, each of us will still delegate 100HP for 21 days and the accounts are:
@steve-o2023, @daniellemurray and @bnbsc
Evidence of Delegation - @fionasfavourites
Here is proof of my delegations:
Lizelle and Eli will do their delegations, themselves, so keep an eye on your wallets.
But that's not all
In addition to the delegations,@daniellemurray and @bnbsc, have all been added to my fanbase (@steve-o2023 is already there) and will receive a daily 100% upvote (when my mana remains above 90%).
I also ask "my" Bot, Friday, to notify me each time they post. If I have an opportunity, I pop over and have a gander and occasionally weigh in on whatever the post may be about. Oh, and if I've got less than 90% mana, and the autovote hasn't happened, I will manually upvote.
An aside
@ginabot is not doing all she should, so although I said she was alive in my December delegation post and more of that when my life has calmed down to a panic), she's still not letting me add accounts. I am still waiting for @neander-squirrel to get back to me and will report back when he does.
A last word - or two
Thanks as always to @traciyork, @victoriabsb and @hivebuzz for all the hard work they do each month - and around the blockchain, generally.
Until next time, be well
Fiona

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

- lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.
This is very nice initiative helping people on their way!
I don't think I had similar support, so great to read about this. 👍
Nor did I when I started on the blockchain - coming up 6 years ago. I was totally overwhelmed. That's a story in itself. Anyway, that's exactly why I decided to do this when I was able.
This is greatly appreciated -- thank you for picking me!
You're very welcome. I hope it helps and wish you all the best!
Hi Fiona! So beautiful views, the wedding must have been lovely.
I hope your tummy is on the mend soon.
@steve-o2023, @daniellemurray, and @bnbsc my delegation to you for 21 days has begun
Thanks.
The support is seriously appreciated.
Hope to progress further as time goes by.
Not entirely sure what that entails, but I believe fish are involved.
You are welcome:)
I hope these delegations help a bit with your progress.
Many thanks for this help ! :)
You are very welcome:)
🤗
Thank you so much - greatly appreciated!
You are very welcome :)
It was, @coquicoin. I am human again (I think, hahaha!) and in my Friday office today...
Thanks Fiona..
Hope to be posting more as time goes on.
Compliments on the photographs.
Looks far better than the view outside my window at the moment..
Look forward to that and having time to read (and engage) more of them. We were blessed with glorious weather while we were away but came home in pouring rain and a few days telling us winter's on it's way. My least favourite season... Hope you have a good summer this year.

Those views must have been really amazing, especially that rainbow!

Thank you!
Please share more of your stunningly beautiful music @daniellemurray!
Thank you, I shall!
Many thanks for that..
Very much appreciated.
It's only a pleasure, and I hope you share your adventures with us here on Hive!
No worries, Lizelle - I was on the mend and I'm happy to report that I am feeling human for the first time in days! Happy to be in my Friday office 😂
Any Koeksisters on the menu?
Always, but stashed in the deepfreeze so not on the agenda - today!
Congrats to the awesome winners! Sad to hear that no accounts were really eligible. It can be hard to save those 10 Hive for HPUD during the first months - every little bit earned gets powered up right away - so my suggestion would be to maybe add a fourth prize: a smaller delegation or a few Hive straight up to be raffled between those who powered up someone who would have been eligible if they had managed to power up themselves, and they'd have to post or comment somewhere that they had done this, so you can check, of course. Maybe using hpudhelp as a tag or something similar?
That was a long sentence with too many "they" 😹 Example: A is eligble for the fourth prize if they power up B with at least 10 HP, and comment/post about it somewhere you can find it. That also makes B eligible for the first raffle/selection, even if they don't make a hpud post, if all the other criteria are met.
Hmm...let me think about this when my brain is working properly. I'm calling over the rest of the team @lizelle and @coquicoin and we can add this to our deliberations. Thanks so much @treefrognada
