I just finished a 10.199km running that lasted about 0hh:47mm:24ss !

To spend more time with my family while in France, and because of too many things to do since I got back on Tuesday, I left 9 days pass without going for a run. First obvious observation: the few small hills I ran in France were clearly not sufficient to keep the pounds off, because I felt really heavy today! My legs were sore, and I have no idea why. And for some reasons, my adductors were also kind of painful. After my trip, I forgot to charge my earbuds, so I had to go without music. It's nice to hear the surroundings, but the music always helps me, particularly when I start getting tired. That's for the bad. For the good, I'm glad I was able to keep a somewhat consistent pace the whole 10k. Overall, 47 minutes for 10k is not bad under the circumstances. Maybe the hills did help after all :)

I chose an easy and familiar route and it's of course back to a completely flat profile. Even if I started later than I had planned, with the sun already starting to set, I still finished just minutes before it got completely dark. Longer days and daylight saving time switch next week end (for some reasons, it's earlier in US compared to Europe) will definitely help me for runs in daylight.

Weather was a bit deceiving, with all that sun this afternoon, it looked warmer than it actually was. It's a good thing I had my gloves in my pocket, because I quickly had to put them on. Big difference compared to the almost 20 degrees Celsius during my last run. I prefer running in the cold, it's just that I wasn't expecting it.

This week end is supposed to stay really sunny and just slightly above freezing temperature, great for running, so hopefully I will find time to go for a couple runs. Or maybe I'll go hiking (I so wish we had mountains, or even hills, nearby), we'll see.

Keep Exhausting!
