State of Tomatoes, July 9th 2020

There are six tomato plants in our little backyard garden. Four of them are planted together in a semi-raised bed in a form of a tent.

I am so happy that the tomatoes are progressing nicely.

Since they are different sorts they are in various stages of ripening.

Looking forward to pick and taste the first fruits in a week or so.

Ps: did you spot a weird detail in one of the photos?

Yep, I am using old shoe laces to tie the plant to the stick. It's way more plant-friendly than any other rope or similar :)

I scrolled through photos up and down and up and down. What's the detail? Are you referring to that curly green onion leaflet coming out of the tomato bunch on the third photo?

Many pairs. I tend to switch them regularly for two reasons:

  • so the feet don't get used to one type of shoes and then you are in trouble and need to adapt when you must change the shoes,
  • this way the wear and load are distributed among several pairs and they cumulatively last longer
