Ulog 182: Making Homemade Mayonnaise & Ranch Salad Dressing

Homemade Mayonnaise

  • One egg- white and yolk
  • One cup avocado oil

Using an immersion blender, just whip for about 15 seconds. Season with salt if desired.

I don't add salt usually when I am using this to make homemade ranch salad dressing.

Ranch Recipe

  • The prepared homemade mayonnaise
  • One to one and a half cups of plain yogurt- I start with one cup then add as needed for consistency desired
  • 1-1 1/2 teaspoons each of garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes and dill weed
  • One half teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8-1/4 teaspoon of salt- I used Pink Himalayan and only used about 1/8 teaspoon. Start with the lower amount as you can always add more if needed

Put all in a bowl and mix. Chill for several hours before serving.

Homemade ranch is one of my favorites. Now you are so much better than me, I haven't made mayo for a while, but it is delicious.
