How to do better than 73% steemians in this #newsteem

You might have already started improving your curation.
You might have already started making use of your "free" DVs.
You might have even have started contributing to make steem better by voting on proposals.
You might have learnt more in these few weeks about the steem ecosystem than in your whole steem journey.
You might have completely changed the way you steem.

But, there is one more way you can still do better than 75% of the users here in this era we call #newsteem.

Clearly, if you are still here after the recent dip, the recent changes and the recent dip once again, then kudos to you. You are already doing better than so many steemians.
However, I want to focus on how to do better than most of the active steemians.

Believing in the steem blockchain and sticking through the thick and thins is truly a proof of your integrity and support. It shows that you truly believe that steem blockchain can be the best in the world and become internet 2.0. It shows that you want to be part of the next big thing and something as small and temporary as the price is insignificant. You are ready to go through the tedious "experiments" and even become a guinea pig if and when required. All consciously or subconsciously.

If you are such a steemian, then I wouldn't be wrong to think of you as motivated for development and a long term thinker. With all of this said, how can you really do better than the majority of the steemians.

How I see it, doing better than the rest is proportional to doing something more than the usual. Taking the extra step to do more and be more than what is already expected and has become the norm.

I have thought a little more than usual and have come up with 3 things that I believe will making anyone in the newsteem do better than the rest.

1. EDUCATION

Obviously, there are some changes and we should be as aware of them as possible. It is of the utmost importance to be knowledgeable and awarebof what these changes are and how these effect us and the rest.
Knowledge is power. This power will allow us to take full advantage of the hardfork and contribute better.

There are multiple ways to get educated. Steem posts (follow, or even use ginabot for posting notifications), live discord shows, recorded discord shows or just ask if you don't understand.

2. Communication

Communication has been key, always. Without communication we cannot do much. With an open channel and an appreciative mindset towards communication we can not only learn more, but we can also brainstorm more.
Do not hold back from communicating. Use comments, discord or even memos if you want to open a channel of conversation. With such a practice we can motivate others to open up and even come up with better solutions or more ideas to make steem better than before.
Make your voice heard.

3. Make the required difference.

I firmly believe in the saying that a person is defined by his behavior when he has everything.
After the Charles foxtrot hardfork the newbies have been effected the most. In that POV everybody except the newbies have everything. The HF has now unintentionally grown an expectation for newbies to arrive with an investment or with the help of someone with the ability to hold their hands till they find a solid footing.

Onboarding and retention has been the topic of the biggest talks and the solution to steems biggest problems. But the Hf has undoubtedly put a huge hiccup on that.

Make onboarding easier: It surely is easier today than it was in the past. There are multiple places you can make abundant account almost for no money. Multiple dapps allow instant account creation. Services like ninja are available. SE has become a part of it through INV tokens...and what not.

But the problem lies in the retention, in case of these newly onboarded. Unless, they do not make an investment it is extraordinarily hard for them to survive here long enough to grow an interest.

Let's find a solution to that. Let's try and push newbies towards programs that could help them find a footing. There are multiple like makeaminnow, hhym, welcome wagon, curangel, engagement leagues, ramble, and so on.
There are multiple programs and ways for newbies to start building up. Let's show them that it doesn't have to be so bad.
