Valentines day: February 14 2026

And my Valentine is... The track lol
My daughter's championship Pentatlón today. Unfortunately not enough points for the nationals because of 1. Not listening and do the hurdles with 4 strides instead of 3, losing 1 second and 200 points down the drain and 2. Tremendous wind making it impossible to run a normal 800m (7 seconds longer than what she's normally running); she ended up second, winning 3 disciplines, 2nd in 1 and third in one more...

I assume that you saw many Valentine-themed decorations last February 14 !INDEED (at work, on the track, and at home, and the roads in between). 💘🎈😏 !HOPE !WEIRD !PIZZA !ALIVE

It really looks like you are so busy with your daily activities that you have (very) little time to look at your surroundings !INDEED. 🤯🤯😅 !WEIRD !HOPE !ALIVE

While being focused on your (more important) tasks is important, let's hope that you can occasionally give time to look at (and appreciate) your surroundings. 🧘‍♂️🤗 !ALIVE !LOLZ

I'm aware I'm not doing this enough. When I go to these montain run competitions with my son every time I take the time to enjoy the surroundings when driving up the place or during running and every time I'm considering we (I) should stand still a little more with the beauty of small things... !wine !BBH !PIZZA

It may be possible for you (and your children) to jog again to the mountains where you previously ran, without being in a competition where your primary goal was to finish the race quickly. 🧘‍♂️🤓

I think it's a hassle if we'd arrive there tired already and my small son wouldn't be able to do the climbs I guess !STRIDE !wine !BBH

I was thinking that you would use a car or some sort of public transportation going to and coming from the mountains (which you love) !INDEED. 🤯😅 !LOLZ

Exactly, but I understod that you stated we should run or walk till there?...
For private excursions (already really a long time ago) we would take the car. At these "competitions", which I'm writing about there's an organized bus service at less than 10 minutes driving from my doorstep. It's better to do like this because parking is very scarse at these places and a lot of people is there at the same time...

I meant on my older comment that you and your son ride a vehicle to the foot of the mountain, then climb up from there. 🤯🤓

Thanks for the information about how you get ready for such running competitions! 🤗

!INDEED by car the mountains are reaelly close here, and even @cycling it isn't that far. In summer I use to cycle up there. !HOPE !wine

Cycling all the way from your home to the top of the mountain and then back might also !INDEED be a good option. 🧘‍♂️🤓 !HOPE !WEIRD !PIZZA

In summer I'm doing this. There are 3 quite good reachable mountain tops close to me: Coll de Sa Creu, Coll d'Honor and Coll de Soller ;-) !STRIDE !BBH !wine

I wonder if you visit all of those mountain tops (by cycling) every summer, or just try to visit one every summer !INDEED. 😅 !HOPE !WEIRD !PIZZA

I try to do at least these 3 every summer. Last summer I didn't do the Coll de Soller, but I went with a friend to Alaro, where is another steep and long climb. Before it was difficult to do it with a road bike because of the bad roads, but now they put a new asfalted road and like this it's perfect (When one is well trained !LOL ) !wine

It's not that there are more than this in the direct surroundings. I would have to cycle further and longer !STRIDE !HOPE !wine

Perhaps you can consider cycling "further and longer" about once every few years (with your children if possible) !INDEED (while continuing to visit the nearby mountains a few times a year), so that you can experience new (even if farther) mountains to cycle. 🚴🤗 !HOPE !WEIRD !PIZZA
