GARDENING Journal - Veggie Garden progress and my own Basil seeds!

Good day everyone! Zak here from Cape Town South Africa! It has been a while since my last Garden update. This is what is going on.
In the picture above you can see my little forest of Basil, Purslane, Bell Pepper and Rosemary. There is also some Parsley and Marigolds in between there.
We have been using quite a lot of the Basil and it just keeps giving to the kitchen. I am keeping all but one of the plants from bolting and I am letting one do it, so it can give me seeds.
I have never let Basil go to seed before, but you can see the results below!

Meanwhile my accidental purslane famr is doing great! Just keep watering! I shall be making @fermentedphil's chutney with them soon!

@clairemobey's little indoor rose plant was not doing great. Spidermites had infested it and it needed to be moved and treated with a bit of vinegar. It was also moved to the veggie garden with some friends and the same watering schedule as the veggies (and a helping of compost and mulch) and look at it!

Little leaves have popped up all over. It had been reduced to bare (green) twigs, but it is bouncing back!

Meanwhile, this is what is happening to the Basil bolts, they are going brown. As I said. I had not done this before - so I investigated!

I cut some of the pods out with my scissors. They were quite difficult to pick off by hand.

Opening them up, I find 3-4 seeds per pod.

Now how many seeds are going to come off these bolts?! That is a LOT of seas! Take a guess! I shall do some quick maths!
Thank you for reading!
Cheers!

It's great to see your passion and dedication for gardening, and to learn about the different steps you're taking to cultivate a thriving and productive garden.
Gardening can be both a relaxing and rewarding experience, and it's wonderful to see how it brings you joy and satisfaction.
I absolutely agree! Thank you for reading the post!
I cannot wait to see the chutney result! And welcome to the club of having thousands of Basil seeds. It is really one of the best feelings ever. Now you can also add other things, like wild rocket and normal rocket! If I see you again, remind me to give you some seeds. I have bottles and bottles full of them.
Nice! That will be cool!
